Your donations to Kennedy PTA are put towards our operating budget, providing support for core programs, and inspiring our students to strive for more. As part of our school community, you are involved in preparing students intellectually, emotionally, and socially to thrive in life. 

Membership & Donation Contest Information

Our Goal for the Membership & Donation Drive is to raise $15,000 to support our Kennedy Students. This money supports our programs throughout the year including: teacher stipends, Science Camp buses for 5th graders, community events (Harvest Festival, Valentine's Day, Hot Chocolate before school, Field Day, Newark Days Parade), art,  Field Trips (last year we supported more than 20 fieldtrips), assemblies and more! The more we raise the more we can give back to the Kennedy Community. See this year's and last year's budget here.

Our Membership & Donation Contest goes through October  6th, 2023. The top 3 classes with highest % of PTA members/student and $/student in donations will win a class party! If you sign up or donate, all your children will benefit! 

• Join the PTA here through Totem.  Membership dues are $15 per adult member. Anyone can join, including grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends! Please make sure you include your child's name and teacher as non-members so their class gets credit.

• Make a Donation. At the beginning of the school year, we ask for a donation to reduce the number of fundraisers needed through the year. Make a tax-deductible donation ($100 donation you can choose a kids t-shirt, magnet or eagle stuffed toy as a thank you)

  • Donate through Totem when you sign up for the PTA

  • Donate through Kennedy PTA's square shop

  • Write a check to the Kennedy PTA and include your child's name, teacher's name and amount on the envelope. Return to your child's teacher.

• Company match:  The Kennedy PTA is a 501(c)3 non-profit. Please check with your employer and make your donation go even further. If you don’t see us on their list, ask to see how we can be added. In previous years, the PTA received matches from Google, BMS, Omron and Intel. When you donate, please be sure to indicate that you need a receipt so you can ask your company to match.

Other Ways to Help

Here are some easy ways to support our PTA and our students at Kennedy:

• School Supplies: Have any miscellaneous or extra school supplies (new or gently used) lying around? Donate them to the school! Just bring them to the Green Box in the school office. We can use glue sticks, pencils, construction paper, binder paper, copy paper, rulers, protractors, erasers, colored pencils, child scissors, boxes of crayons, colored markers, scotch tape, dry-erase markers and erasers, etc. 

• Boxtops for Education: Get the Boxtops App and Scan your receipt to get money for the PTA. See link below.

• Treasure Box Donations: If your classroom has a treasure box (little gifts for good work or behavior), please consider donating to their box. These could be new treasures or treasures you already have in your house and just might want to pass on. Treasures could be things like goody bag items from parties, fast food happy meal prizes, little figurines, small toys, little cars, small stuffed animals, wind up toys, pencils, erasers, plastic jewelry, and more. If your classroom does not have a treasure box, but you would still like to donate some items, please bring them to the Green Box in the school office. 

• Company Matching: The Kennedy PTA is a non-profit 501(c)(3). Many companies will match employee's donations to our PTA.
