Research & Education

About my research

Mineral physics study with diamond anvil cell high-pressure device and some heating techniques

My interests are high-pressure behavior of relevant materials inside of the Earth and planets, thermal evolution and dynamics in the planets.

Electrical conductivity

4 or quasi-2 probe technique to determine the electrical conductivity (resistivity) in a DAC for mantle minerals and core alloys

Thermal conductivity

The pulsed light heating thermoreflectance technique for understanding thermal transport properties of mantle minerals and core alloys

Sound velocity

A combination of the femtosecond pulse laser pump–probe method & a DAC for determination of high P sound velocity of minerals & metals

High P-T phase relations

Determinations of high P-T phase relations of minerals, alloys, & elements by means of synchrotron X-ray diffraction & Raman methods

In-situ high P X-ray CT

Observation of sample geometry in-situ at high P in a DAC by using nano-scale X-ray microscope
