Dr. Kelvin Ken L. Yu is a dedicated radiation oncologist from Manila, Philippines. He recently completed a fellowship at the renowned Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia, focusing on urology, brachytherapy, sarcomas, and gynecology. Prior to this, he finished his residency in Radiation Oncology at the Benavides Cancer Institute, University of Santo Tomas Hospital in Manila.
Dr. Yu earned his Doctor of Medicine degree, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in 2016, after completing his Bachelor of Science in Biology, also Magna Cum Laude, at De La Salle University in 2012. His academic achievements reflect his deep commitment to both excellence and service in the medical field.
Aside from his clinical work, Dr. Yu is active in research, with several published studies focusing on improving radiotherapy for cancer patients. His innovative approach, such as the Partially Ablative Body Radiotherapy (PABR)for sarcomas, has been presented at prestigious international conferences like the European Society for Radiotherapy & Oncology (ESTRO) and the Asia-Pacific Prostate Cancer Conference. His research has received significant funding, including grants from the Victorian Cancer Agency and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre Foundation.
Dr. Yu placed 10th in the 2017 Philippine Physician Licensure Examinations and remains an active member of the Philippine Medical Association (PMA) and the Philippine Radiation Oncology Society (PROS), where he continuously advocates for improving cancer care in the Philippines.
