Hello there! Welcome to my web page where you will find my most amazing master pieces. Please feel free to check on anything here as I will be uploading loads of my work and hope you will enjoy it. Appreciate the visit!
My Passion
One of my favorite leisure activity is playing, watching, reading, really anything to do with basketball. It is fairly popular worldwide and its athletes are also well-known. These are mostly players from the National Basketball Association or NBA for short. The NBA is by far the most watched, entertaining and prominent basketball league in the globe so there is no wonder that people idolizes star players from this league. It is also considered to be the hardest out of all the leagues because of the quality that they offer.
I started playing basketball since middle school, I guess. My dad actually plays basketball, like a lot, so back when I was a kid, he would sometimes invite me over to play along with him. So actually, I am not like one of those guys who has never touched a basketball before, I just started playing more often back in middle school and it eventually became an interest. I would watch NBA games every day then go back and watch highlights. It felt amazing to learn and study the players’ names, and how they play the game.
When I play basketball, I feel great, even though I am not the best of players. When I do good things on the court, I know it is because I can make up for my lack of athleticism with being a student of the game. As I said earlier, it is the one place on earth where I am in my element.

Only One Language?
The principal method of human communication, language is a system that will never die out in human existence. There are tons of dialects used from all around the globe. However, institutions often consider learning English more valuable than learning other local languages and because of this, other languages begin to withdraw. It is clear that English is the number one language in the world, but is it essential for everyone to learn it? If that means we should prioritize learning English, are we going to just let go of the other languages including mother tongues?
Not only it is the most used language in the world, it is also a language of many. From ancient history, the English language has evolved from other local languages throughout the years and has become number one. It is literally the official international language on Earth which is mainly because USA leads the world economy and is the powerhouse of the global development. We cannot deny the fact that English is a must learn language because of all the benefits we can get and the need to survive in this world. Some might experience difficulties when encountering the ever-evolving world as English dominates in terms of the language used. It is no surprise that most schools will classify English language higher over local languages. As a result, this makes English one of the, if not, the most influential language in the world.
How about the local languages, though? Are we just going to forget about it since English leads all languages? We cannot ignore the fact that English evolved from ancient local languages as well. So without these dialects English would not be as we know it today. Nonetheless, local dialects are also part of culture and we should not destroy this identity. There are also benefits of learning other languages. We get to know more about other people’s culture and have a wide range of knowledge when learning new languages. On the other hand, it is also important to ensure the survival of these local languages. It is pretty simple, use the language daily to prevent it from extinction. So, we should make sure that the people of young generation can still use these local languages.
To conclude, English is important for everyone to learn and local languages should not be forgotten. Sure it is enough to only master one language but it would be even better to be multilingual speakers. It is not wrong to speak only one language but we cannot be one-sided when talking about languages so why not go ahead and learn something new?

SMH UN Day
United Nations Day, marks the anniversary of the entry into force in 1945 of the UN Charter and is celebrated every year on 24 October. Our school conducted their own UN Day celebration event at the Junior High School building. This year’s theme is ‘End Racism, Build Peace’ which aims to give peace and end conflicts that jeopardize lives, futures and global progress. The event in our school is quite different than the other events but has an interesting approach to this UN Day celebration. There are booths of many countries prepared by respective group members and serves special traditional food from different countries. Let us take a look at how the event went and the interesting sites that we saw on that day.
In total, there were 7 booths which are India, South Korea, South Africa, Mexico, Japan, Indonesia and Europe, which in this case is not a country but is a continent so their booth include countries in Europe. There were a bunch of activities throughout the day such as fun games, bake sales and performances from representatives from each group of countries. Games were hosted by some of groups and bake sales were served by every country, each with different taste and style. Performances were also cultural related and has to do with the tradition from the particular country.
There were several impacts and flaws from this event. Some students find this event fun and entertaining. They said it is a great way to study various cultures from around the world for example learning new language. “It increases brotherhood as we can learn and see the good from each country”, quote one of the members. Even though the event went smoothly, the preparation was not. Many said there was not enough time to prepare materials, finishing booths and making those crafty work of arts. It simply was not what the students wanted but in the end of the day, they did a pretty good job of handling it.
All in all, it was a fantastic day. Everything was amazing overall with little flaws on the event day. We learned many new things and saw beautiful pieces of work from the students with teacher’s help. Though the food served was not maximum, it did not matter because we also get to participate and check out the booths from each group. Glad that we got the opportunity to visit this event.

One or More Subjects?
Teenagers are youths with a mind to change the future of the next generation. They are still very young and their brain capacity can still occupy spaces for more knowledge. Schools offer students a lot of subjects to learn and some think that teenage students should focus on all the subjects it offers. While on the other hand, some said to believe that teenagers should focus on the major that they are superior with. So should students absorb all knowledge from school or should they just seek for the major they are most interested in?
At a very young age, the human brain tends to work differently from adults because they have the ability to consume more knowledge as they are still growing. The subjects at school are grouped in different categories such that the students can choose which major they prefer or are most interested in. There is no doubt that these adolescents are able to learn and study all the subjects at school. It is very advantageous as well, as learning loads of things can increase the awareness of how the world works. There is nothing wrong with learning everything even though some might not find it interesting. In fact, it gives a wider variety of options and easier access to something like scholarships or job applications.
Even so, in the end of the day, everyone has their own talent and there is always something they are interested in. It would not be fair to force students to master subjects that they do not find essential in their lives. We should be aware that people can have different hobbies and interests so it is highly important to know that us humans are going to focus with what we are good at in the future. Concentrating on one subject only also means that we are going to be an expert of that particular major as it is going to be something that we will keep on learning further. So, it is actually a great idea to focus on the subject that we are good at and that we are interested in as it can help us find jobs that fits accordingly to what we love to do.
In summary, learning is a very important aspect in our lives and it is never wrong to learn something. The fact that we learn new things every day tells us that it is an everlasting thing. Concentrating on all the subjects in school may be hard for some but it can give us a lot of benefits. However, having to focus with a specific subject is also beneficial because we get to master that particular field. It may sound difficult, but let’s just focus on studying hard and getting the best results.

Cleaning Day
Some holidays honor people and some are only events being celebrated. If by any chance I could create a brand new holiday, it would probably be Cleaning Day. I do believe that this holiday already exists in some countries or areas. However, I want it to be celebrated every month instead of celebrating it once a year as it would create a much bigger impact to the community. So, in this article I will be explaining through the details, covering the benefits that it offers to our society.
Firstly, as stated on the title, Cleaning Day is the day when everybody works together to clean up their messes at home and clearing all the trash outside. The purpose of this holiday is really to create a way cleaner and healthier environment so that people feel safe and cozy living in their own region. Yes, a clean environment means a safe place to live in as it reduces the risk of disasters such as flooding or other types of disasters caused by an unhealthy environment.
To celebrate this day, it is best to start it off at home, maybe your own bedroom for instance. And remember that everything starts from you yourself so go and get yourself a shower first before anything else. Make sure everything at home is clean and tidy before heading out for the next objective. It is also important to throw away unwanted things or things that are old and unusable because all this will use up the space at home. Rearrange everything if needed and once everything is done, we are set to go to the next stage which is cleaning outside. People will need to work together if possible so that it can be more productive and efficient. There is really not much to do besides collecting litter and maybe cutting off long grasses.
So, Cleaning Day is not just about cleaning specific areas but also making new friends and meeting new people while working together to create a better environment for one another. I mean, who does not like a clean environment with fresh air to breath and no pollution?
