Metacognition is thinking about your own thinking and being aware of what you know, how you learn, and what strategies you need to succeed. Our students using digital learning environments like i-Ready or IXL and can sometimes fall into a passive learning state where they are selecting answers and moving forward in the program, focusing on completion, rather than genuine comprehension and learning.Â
Throughout this page, you will find physical tools designed to break this passive learning cycle by enabling students to monitor themselves and evaluate their own learning.
By making the process of learning visible and taking a physical pause at the end of digital work, we shift our student's focus from being passive consumers to active learners.
