Sarah grew up in the Kansas City area (on the Missouri side). As a toddler she “taught class” to all of her dolls. She attended Northwest State University in Maryville, Missouri where she was a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority. She graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education with a concentration in mathematics. Sarah went on to teach second grade in a rural district in Missouri for two years before receiving her Master’s Degree from the University of Kansas in special education while teaching special education in the Kansas City Kansas School District for 8 years.
After moving to the Fairfax area, she began teaching again at Lord of Life Preschool in Fairfax. She has taught there since 2017 and has taught ages 2.5 to 5.
Sarah has two children who attend Providence Elementary School. Sarah is active in the PTA and has served as the book fair chair for the last three years.
Outside of teaching she enjoys spending time with her family attending minor league baseball games, reading, and hiking. She has served on the Mosby Woods Community Association since May 2018 and has served as the secretary as well as the current membership chair.
She is looking forward to the challenge of serving on the Fairfax City School Board.
