As a middle school math teacher, I take pride in creating an environment where all students feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. I do this through creating a comfortable environment and by fostering meaningful connections with students and colleagues. Through my work in the Curriculum and Instruction program, I have learned how to implement technology within the classroom in innovative ways, how to help students and families who may have experienced trauma, how to collaborate effectively with colleagues and administration and how to review and execute action research within my own classroom. This portfolio will highlight the knowledge that I have learned in classes that I have completed towards my masters degree, but most importantly has helped me become the kind, compassionate, and informed educator that I am today!
