Welcome to my Portfolio!

Welcome to my portfolio that showcases my learning through my time in the University of Vermont's masters in Curriculum and Instruction program. My name is Kelsey Nudd and I live in Georgia, Vermont where I work as an middle school mathematics teacher. I received a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and Mathematics at Saint Michael's College in 2020 and started my teaching career at the height of the pandemic. I started my teaching journey in a small rural middle/ high school in central Vermont, where I taught eighth grade math as well as a range of high school courses. After three years, I moved to Franklin County and have continued to teach eighth grade mathematics at Georgia Elementary and Middle School. Along with teaching, I have helped build theater programs at each school and have helped direct many plays and musicals!

As a middle school math teacher, I take pride in creating an environment where all students feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. I do this through creating a comfortable environment and by fostering meaningful connections with students and colleagues. Through my work in the Curriculum and Instruction program, I have learned how to implement technology within the classroom in innovative ways, how to help students and families who may have experienced trauma, how to collaborate effectively with colleagues and administration and how to review and execute action research within my own classroom. This portfolio will highlight the knowledge that I have learned in classes that I have completed towards my masters degree, but most importantly has helped me become the kind, compassionate, and informed educator that I am today!
