THE METHOD BEHIND MY MADNESS

My Visual Arts career spans 12+ years

I have held 4 group exhibitions and 2 solo exhibitions.

I use discarded materials such as doors, glass, curtains, carpets , metals and previously used canvases because I enjoy the challenge of giving materials another life and recreating it.

I have explored using organic, earthy tones to mimick Nature's complex intricacies. This captures the natural flow of the art piece in real time, freezing movement and experimenting with how different chemicals react together. I have created a 3D effect with some of the pieces to capture fractals. With others pieces, such as the glass, light and shadows are needed in order to bring out the piece.

ORGANIC COMPOSITION SERIES:

"Organic composition" marks a transition within my exploration of the abstract in my career. After 5 years of increasing layers, details and techniques on canvases, "Organic composition" pulls back, allowing space for natural forms and textures to emerge. I experimented with different chemicals and substances and used the rotation of the canvas to allow for the natural composition and interaction of the elements to be captured.

Organic composition is a 7 piece completed series.

THE "ACCOUNTABILITY" SERIES

The "Accountability" series is inspired by photos of war. Oil on canvas 1.9m X 1.5m. The piece was created with 40 layers of different ideas underneath the top layer. This symbolises stories and memories erased by the current moment of war on families. The faces of the family are half erased, symbolising the millions who are nameless.

Mind Games is a mixed media piece 1.5 m x 1.2m

This was one of my first experimentations in 2024 using corrosive materials. I explored the way different substances were corroded and frozen, leaving behind unique intricate details
