As an application development student some of my rules will include being a user interface designer and prototyper, my role involves creating user-friendly and visually appealing application interfaces. this leads me to be dedicated to understanding and translating user needs into effective designs that enhance user experience. This also includes prototyping applications to test their functionality and gather input for incremental improvements. I collaborate closely with my team to ensure that our designs meet project goals and user expectations.
In my work, I follow a structured approach to ensure that each project phase is completed efficiently and effectively:
Collect: I gather and organize artefacts from my projects, including designs, user feedback, and testing results.
Select: I critically evaluate these artefacts to choose the most relevant and impactful ones as evidence of my skills and development.
Reflect: I reflect on my experiences, using the STAR technique to demonstrate how each artefact showcases my learning and growth.
Connect: I identify connections across my artefacts and reflections to present a coherent and polished summary of my abilities.
E-portfolios are an excellent way to showcase skills and experiences comprehensively. They allow for the inclusion of various artefacts, such as videos, audio recordings, writing assignments, and more, providing a holistic view of one's capabilities. By using an e-portfolio, I can present a well-rounded picture of my skills and achievements to potential employers, collaborators, and educators.
Communication is crucial in understanding user needs and conveying design specifications to the team.
