Demographic economics expert specialized in demographic projections and the components of population growth. With experience in both academia and institutions, I focus on understanding the economic and demographic challenges societies face today. My expertise lies in using advanced modelling techniques to predict population changes and using demographic data to inform public policies aimed at addressing the pressing demographic issues. I have joined the team of Social Protection and Demography at Federal Planning Bureau where I am in charge of demographic projections. I study the components of population growth: fertility, migration, life expectancy, mortality and their respective impact on future demographic trends in Belgium.
I was previously a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute for Economic and Social Research (IRES) of LIDAM, UCLouvain, working on the project FEDIRIS (Innoviris), which studies the division of public finances in Belgium and regional differences in terms of demographic composition and population profiles. My research interests are in topics of Population and Family Economics.
