This painting was created from my daily walks and runs around Lake Harriet. Like any painter, I noticed the sky, and I noticed the water. I noticed the reflections I noticed the leaves I noticed the color I noticed the objects, but as I made my sometimes one sometimes to circuit, I would see this law at various states of submersion, the log became my goal, and the painting became a goal. I was trying to do a couple things worked on my ability to render the reflection of the sky, and consider how to paint the log and also how to icon eyes. The log is actually coded in Sterling silver leaf the shadow. I'm quite proud of did what I thought it should do what's fascinating as as you move around the painting and at different times of day and evening, the painting reflects different kinds of light.
I guess similar to the way the lake changes every single day and the sky and the reflection and the surface. It has been good work. The painting in itself feels good. I'm happy about the branches that overlay. I'm especially happy with the colors in their reflection.
As I struggled with that background painting, Deb came to me and showed me this fan like painting brush that solved most of my issues as I learned how to blend.
