Dr Keir A. Nichols
In-situ Radiocarbon Scientist, SUERC/University of Glasgow
I'm a glacial geologist interested in understanding how glaciers, particularly the Antarctic ice sheets, have changed over the last ~20,000 years, helping reduce uncertainties in future sea level rise projections.
After spending 2021 to 2024 as a postdoc at Imperial College London, I've started a new role as an "In situ Radiocarbon Scientist" at the Scottish Universities Environmental Research Centre (SUERC)/University of Glasgow. Whilst I'll likely be measuring radiocarbon (in situ 14C) to understand the past of ice sheets/glaciers, I'll hopefully be branching out into other fields like geomorphology, too!
