Photos and notes
Photos, notes, group names, drawings and recognized text are stored locally in Keepture. We do not upload this content to our servers or Firebase. Text recognition runs on your device. Camera photos are not automatically added to your system photo library. If you export or share a photo, the destination app handles that copy under its own policy. In versions that support watermarks, new camera shots have capture date/time and the KEEPTURE signature enabled by default. You can turn this off and customize the date/time, manually entered place name, text, size and corner position. In versions supporting capture location, automatic location is enabled in watermark settings, but only works after you grant operating-system permission. The app checks location only while the camera is open in the foreground. It stores the capture-time coordinates, accuracy, measurement time and resolved address locally with that photo. Coordinates may be sent to Apple’s or the Android device’s geocoding service to find an address in your device language; we do not send them to our servers, Analytics or custom Crashlytics logs. An address is not guaranteed worldwide or offline. If lookup fails, coordinates may be displayed; if no recent location is available, the location is omitted without blocking photo saving. A manual place overrides automatic location. You can disable automatic location or revoke permission; existing photos are not updated with your current location. Settings, capture-time snapshots and rendered copies remain on your device. The original is preserved; sharing sends the selected rendered copy, including its visible watermark, to the destination app. Full addresses remain in the local photo record even when the watermark shows a shorter address. If you choose Copy in the capture-location details, the displayed full address or coordinates are placed on the system clipboard, subject to operating-system clipboard behavior.
Retention and deletion
You choose 24 hours, 3 days or manual clearing. A group can override the item period, starting when an item enters that group. Expired or cleared items remain recoverable in Recently cleared for 3 days. Permanent deletion is also available. Cleanup is performed when the app runs; this is not guaranteed secure erasure at an exact background time. Original photos imported from another app and copies you export are not deleted by Keepture. Removing the app removes its local content, subject to platform behavior. Keepture does not provide cloud photo backup.
Photo widgets and redacted sharing
In versions that support photo widgets, only a photo you choose and its note are provided to the operating system’s home screen widget. iOS keeps a small local thumbnail in the app group shared with the widget extension. Widget selection is optional and can be cleared in Settings. Expired or cleared cards are not selected for display; operating system caching may delay visual updates. No widget photo or note is sent to our servers. Choosing a card area or pinning a card does not change its original image or expiry. Redacted sharing creates a separate flattened image with opaque boxes over the areas you select. Only that copy of the selected photo is shared, without the card note or other attached photos. The original remains unchanged. Temporary exports are stored in the app cache; exports older than one day are cleaned on the next redacted export, and the operating system may clear them sooner. Copies already shared are managed by the receiving app.
Text actions, capture presets and app lock
Capture preset names, groups, retention choices and default notes are stored locally. Text actions use text already recognized on your device. Only when you choose Copy, Open link, Open phone app or Search in Maps is the selected content handed to the system clipboard or the destination app or service, which handles it under its own policy. Keepture does not automatically call phone numbers or submit recognized text to an online search service. Optional app lock uses operating-system authentication, including supported biometrics or your device screen-lock credential. Keepture receives the authentication outcome, not your biometric data or device passcode. Lock settings are local. This is an app access gate, not a separately encrypted photo vault. Enabling app lock clears photo widget selection and requests an empty widget; operating-system caching can delay that update, so remove an existing photo widget if you need its preview hidden immediately. Android blocks app screenshots while lock is enabled; iOS hides app previews when it becomes inactive but does not block screenshots while you are viewing the unlocked app.
Crash diagnostics
Firebase Crashlytics is used to investigate crashes and improve reliability. It can send crash stack traces, app version, device and operating-system information, installation identifiers and diagnostic information to Google/Firebase. Crash diagnostics are enabled by default and are separate from the optional usage statistics setting. We do not intentionally include your photos, notes, recognized text, search terms or group names in custom diagnostic logs.
Optional usage statistics
Usage statistics are off by default. If you consent on the first-launch guide or enable them in Settings, Firebase Analytics receives predefined feature events, such as opening a screen, importing a photo or changing a view mode, together with technical app/device and installation information. The event values do not include your photo content, note text, recognized text, search terms, group names, file paths or item IDs. You can turn this off in Settings at any time. This stops future collection; it does not automatically delete events already received. Advertising identifier collection and advertising personalization are disabled in our app configuration. We do not display ads or sell your personal information.
Permissions
Camera permission is used to take photos. The system photo picker only provides the photos you select. Notifications are optional and used for local expiry reminders; they do not upload your photo content. In versions supporting capture location, foreground location permission is optional for photo watermarks. Background location is not requested. Keepture does not request contacts or microphone access. You can manage permissions in your device settings.
Purchases
When Pro is offered, payments and refunds are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play. Keepture receives the product identifier and purchase/verification information required to check access and restore purchases. On Android, a signed purchase record is kept in app-private storage for offline verification. We do not receive your card number. Purchases are tied to the relevant platform store account; there is no cross-platform account sync. No paid subscription or purchase is required to access existing photos.
Service providers and your choices
Google/Firebase processes diagnostic and optional analytics data under its service policies, which may involve processing outside your country. Retention depends on the Firebase service and project settings. Apple and Google process store purchases under their own policies. You can delete local items, revoke permissions and disable optional statistics. For questions about access, correction or deletion of data received by the operator, contact us; we will explain what can be identified and handled. Do not send photos, medical information or passwords in a support request unless they are necessary.
Contact and policy changes
Keepture is operated by the Keepture developer. Privacy and support contact: i1hauni01@gmail.com. If the app’s data handling changes, this policy will be updated with a new effective date. Keepture is a general-use photo utility and is not designed to collect children’s information.
