Keynote Emerging Artist of Promise Award

Presented by the Southeastern Theatre Conference

A One-of-a-Kind Opportunity for Passionate Theatre Students to Experience the Nation's Largest Regional Theatre Convention

The Keynote Emerging Artist of Promise (KEAP) Award is presented to (4) current high school students in the southeast who are passionate about theatre, who love learning, and who would benefit from financial assistance in order to attend SETC's Annual Convention.

Nominate a Student Today

Award Packages Include:

Scholarship to the 2024 Convention

Including access to all of the opportunities at the Annual Converence including Workshops, Performances, College Fair, Vendor Fair, College Auditions and Portfolio Reviews

Housing for the Convention

Students receive accommodations at a Convention Hotel booked and provided by SETC or reimbursement up to $250 if traveling with a school group.

Custom Itinerary and VIP Access

Students are provided a custom itinerary to help make the most of their Convention Experience. Their time includes VIP Access to all of the Keynote Addresses, special meet-and-greets with all of the Keynote Speakers, and invitations to special Convention events.

Individualized Mentorship

Students meet daily with a team of energetic and caring theatre artists and educators who help guide and answer questions about the convention, the industry, and more.

How to Nominate

Step 1: Fill Out the Nominator Form

Any Teacher can nominate an eligible student for this award by submitting our Nomination Form

Step 2: Receive a Nominee Form

Once a Teacher has submitted a Nomination Form, they will receive a link in their email to submit the Nominee Form with their Student

Step 3: Fill Out the Nominee Form

A Student and their Teacher can submit the Student's Responses to the Nominee Form

Eligibility

Students enrolled in secondary school (including home school) who are a resident of one of the following states - Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, or West Virginia - are eligible to receive the award.
