Hermione: Lee Hee Kyung served his part as the second lead well, and though the semantics of his character is rather pedantic (childhood best friend falling in love with his Noona), his role was necessary for the plot and the development of the other characters. His character was somewhat undermined by his incessant clingy behavior toward Cheon Song Yi; he was a stronger and more dynamic character when acting on his own interests instead of following his childhood crush around like a puppy dog. The most intriguing part of his character was his reponse to the news that his brother was a sociopath: he showed surprising maturity and compassion, and his gut reaction was heartbreaking. I feel as if the show did Lee Hee Kyung somewhat of a disservice: if he had been allowed to move on from Cheon Song Yi and establish himself as a separate entity, his character would have been considerably more likable. At the very least, he should have been allowed to move on by the end of the show. His still clinging onto Cheon Song Yi even during the final episode completely side-stepped his character arc (as was hinted at toward the middle of the show) and made him honestly quite pathetic and unlikeable. However, I understand that the overall purpose of his character was to drive the romantic tension between Cheon Song Yi and Do Min Joon and to act as the connecting thread between the sociopath/thriller side of the drama and the more obvious melodrama aspects, and to this end, Lee Hee Kyung worked perfectly.

I am a big k-drama fan and really liked this one, and your review of it. I especially like it when the FL is loved not just for her lovely appearance but for her values and talents. This FL was really good at everything she set her mind to, and had a very good heart. She won over her colleagues and did lots of kind things. She also apologized when she was wrong and was excited that her new love was teaching her to be nicer. I especially liked the playfulness, teasing and wrestling the ML did with both his best friend and with the FL. He was warm and charming and genuine.

One thing you mentioned; that his dislike of women wasn't explained; He did describe how his mother only married his father for money and when he went broke she was unsupportive, and quickly remarried a wealthy man soon after his father died. Plus, ten years ago his first love, the actress now starring in his current movie, got famous and dropped him because he was an unknown then, and accused him of stalking her. That explained it to me. And to underline his distaste, that spoiled pouty actress he's working with when we first meet him, the one who starts the rumor that he's gay, just emphasizes everything he dislikes about women.

If you're a fan of romantic TV shows but have never immersed yourself in a good K-drama, then you're missing out on some of the best love stories available to stream. There are great Korean dramas within every romance genre, from classic rom-coms to epic sagas to chill everyday love stories. Odds are, even engrossing action or thriller K-dramas will have at least one romantic subplot that will leave you swooning. (Squid Game was outside the norm in that category.)

The love story: This rom-com follows two women with the same name: (pretty) Oh Hae-young (Jeon), a team manager at a catering company, and (just) Oh Hae-young (Seo), an assistant manager at the same business. The women have known each other since childhood, as (just) Hae-young has constantly been overshadowed by the prettier, more popular one of the pair. Enter Park Do-kyung (Mun), a perfectionist sound director for a film company. When he suddenly develops the ability to see the future, he becomes entangled in both of the Oh Hae-youngs' lives, and must decide which one he wants to be with.

The love story: Two longtime friends and law-enforcement workers get fake-married to win an apartment in a housing lottery. While moving in, they soon discover that an airborne disease has begun turning their neighbors into zombies.

The love story: This history-spanning romance follows the love between a mermaid and a con artist in the present-day, as well as the mermaid's ancestor and the son of a nobleman in the Joseon era.

Sparks fly between the couple upon their coincidental meet-cute and one-night stand, but Yoo-mi disappears the next morning, leaving Jin-wook confused.
