Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society for educators, was founded by a dedicated group of educators believing in the four pillars of the organization: fidelity to humanity, service, science, and toil. There are more than 500 chapters across the United States, meaning that a member can go anywhere and find an educator who shares the same ideals.
Kappa Delta Pi at New Paltz:
The Zeta Zeta Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi has been active on the New Paltz campus for more than half a century. In that time, many great educators have graced the roles of Kappa Delta Pi, Zeta Zeta Chapter.
To be inducted as a member of Kappa Delta Pi Zeta Zeta:
Undergraduate students must have:
At least 6 completed (or in progress) credit hours in education coursesÂ
A cumulative GPA of at least 3.55 (or a 3.3 with a letter of recommendation from a Professor)
A minimum of 15 points (see below)
Graduate students must have:
At least 9 completed (or in progress) credit hours in education courses
A cumulative GPA of at least 3.7
A minimum of 15 points (see below)
Earning Points for KDP:
Each designated event, workshop, volunteer opportunity, or donation allows pledges and members to earn points for Kappa Delta Pi. (refer to calender of events tab for montly events!)
15 points are required for induction - held at the end of April or beginning of May
25 points earns you purple and green KDP honor cords to wear at graduation
