The Knollwood Green is a group of community members working to engage
our neighbors in environmental awareness.
By mid-summer we gear up with our local water-keeper to sell native canopy trees throughout the neighborhood. Plantings typically occur in late fall.
In years past we teamed up with Towson University's Big Event. Since the pandemic we have maintained cleanups in partnership with Alliance for the Bay and neighborhood stewardship to keep the Herring Run clean.
We have been working with Baltimore County and our regionally elected officials for years to develop the backbone of our neighborhood which connects
Stevenson Road to Aigburth Road. Follow along on social media here
Starting with helping to host the community input meeting in 2015 until present day, we have worked with Green Towson Alliance, Regionally Elected Officials and various departments in Baltimore County to ensure Knollwood/Donnybrook connection to this park and the park itself.
Using social media and scouting opportunities we have been working to educate the neighborhood on a variety of environmental efforts (native plantings, compost, recycling, etc.)
Working along side the Green Towson Alliance, we have worked to remove invasive plants along the Herring Run.
The median strip along Knollwood south of Aigburth is a work in progress to create a sustainable native garden.
