Dr. Caroline Newhall presents "Under the Rebel Lash": Black Prisoners of War in the Confederate South." It is the title of her dissertation as well as the working title for her book manuscript. Caroline will be discussing her research into the Civil War's Black POWs who were captured by the Confederate military and subjected to different forms of captivity.
