The records I make aren’t pressed, like most records. What I do is take a blank disc and use what’s called a cutting lathe to play back and cut audio in real time. So if one side of a record is 15 minutes long, it took me 15 minutes to cut it.
The advantage of this is that I can cut just a single record* whereas minimums for pressing are typically 300, 500 or even 1000 records.
*I can even cut a single side of a single record. #neato
The cutting lathe I use is the T-560, designed and built in Germany. It was designed to cut louder and deeper grooves than the average cutting lathes in use today.
