KCD Community Homes in Waukegan, Illinois provides a safe, structured, supportive living environment for women experiencing housing instability, for independent seniors seeking affordable housing, for women transitioning from detox, behavioral‑health treatment or medical discharge. We offer stability, accountability, and a clear weekly routine in a community‑focused setting.

We believe stability creates opportunity, and our program is designed to support residents as they rebuild their lives.

RESIDENCE FEATURES

MOVE‑IN & FEES

• One time Intake Fee: $100 it covers drug test, background check, pin code & fingerprint door access activation, orientation of house rules, house tour & Welcome Hygiene Kit (bucket with bath towel, soap,toothbrush, toothpaste, comb + pen & notebook)

• Security Deposit of $200 to cover damages and any costs resulting from violations of program rules. Deductions may be made for repair or replacement of Program property or any outstanding balances at the time of discharge.

•Move-In Fee: $200/week or $800/month

• Move‑In: Any day (10 AM–2 PM) • Weekly Check‑Out: Monday (8–10 AM)

• Weekly Payment Due: Monday by 12 PM (For example, if you move-in on Wednesday, your next payment due is still on Monday)

• Monthly Payment Due every last day of the month

*NOTE: An intake fee of $100+ $200 security deposit is required to be paid in advance before scheduling a move in date to hold a bed and secure a move-in spot. (This is non- refundable if the resident cancels or does not show up for their scheduled move-in. Residents who complete their stay in the program are eligible for a refund of their security deposit of $200.  The deposit will be returned at discharge, provided there are no damages, rule violations, or outstanding balances.

ITEMS TO BRING

• Personal Clothing • Properly labeled medications (if any) • Identification Card

HOUSE EXPECTATIONS

• Weekly accountability • Household chores rotation • No drugs/alcohol • Individual door pincode/fingerprint access 

• No overnight guests • Maintain cleanliness • Follow quiet hours • Respectful behavior • Attend weekly house meetings

NOT PROVIDED

• No licensed treatment • No personal‑care assistance • No medical care

• No transportation provided • No on‑site staff

REFERRAL TO INTAKE PROCESS

1. Referral source emails or text us the client info by filling up the Pre-Screening Form, then we will schedule ASAP for a Zoom videocall/phone call screening.  Applicant can contact us directly by filling up the Pre-Screening Form and send to us via text or email

2. Approval/denial within 24 hours, virtual house tour given upon approval

3. Pay one time $100 intake fee plus $ 200 security deposit fee to secure bed and schedule move-in. 

4. Move-in/ Intake day with mandatory drug test. Pay weekly program fee of $200 or monthly program fee of $800

5. House Tour, orientation of house rule, signing house agreement and waiver

NOTE: KCD Community Homes with legal business name KCD Community Homes & Services NFP provides program-based residential services.  Participation in this program does not create a landlord-tenant relationship between the resident and organization. KCD Community Homes reserves the right to automatically discharge any resident who violates program rules or fails to pay the required program fee.  Because this is a structured program and not rental housing, eviction notices do not apply.
