Two Wood Day 2026 – Note to all competitors
Due to the number of entries received (50) it will again be necessary to hold the day at two separate venues.
So it will be played on Sunday 31st May, at both Bromley B.C. AND West Wickham B.C. down to a winner at each venue i.e. the Divisional Finalists.
The initial draw has been done dividing the entries into two sections, one who will play at Bromley & the other who will play at West Wickham. Each section each contains 25 players and this is shown elsewhere on this website.
A further draw will be done on the day at both venues based on those who have turned up by the stipulated cut off time. This is to avoid any walkovers being given & reduce the time waiting to play as much as possible.
Whichever club you are drawn at all players must arrive NO LATER THAN 9.30 A.M. to register & allow the draw to be done. The first group of 14 will then be allocated rinks & markers & the aim will be to get those games started as soon as is practical after the draw has been done.
ANYONE ARRIVING AFTER 9.30 a.m. UNFORTUNATELY WILL NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE DRAW.
Both host clubs have agreed to set up their greens for 7 rinks, so the maximum wait any player will have to play their first game should be under an hour.
As always, we will do our best to get all games underway as soon as possible during the course of the day. As such it is our intention to ask those not playing in the early games to help out with marking. Certainly as the day progresses we would hope that players who lose then agree to mark a subsequent game because we simply cannot expect the host clubs to provide markers for a full 6 or 7 hours !
If you are not prepared to mark please let us know before play starts.
Assuming all 25 players turn up on the day at both venues it is anticipated that the final game at each should be finished around 4.00 p.m.
As previously stated, if the weather is kind to us, our aim is to produce a winner from each venue & those two players will then play in the Divisional Final at Bromley B.C. on Friday 3rd July but please be aware that, if successful, you will have played either 4 or 5 games during the course of the day.
IF YOU FIND THAT YOU ARE UNABLE TO PLAY ON THE 31st MAY PLEASE HAVE THE COURTESY TO CONTACT EITHER MYSELF (AT BROMLEY BC) OR GEOFF BAILEY (AT WEST WICKHAM) IN GOOD TIME SO THERE IS NO DELAY TO THE DRAWS TAKING PLACE.
