Application Components Include:  

KC BizFest offers high school students in the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan area an opportunity to learn a variety of life skills and business techniques. The majority of KC BizFest participants come from the emerging Latino Community. Students learn the art of networking in business environments, identifying investment opportunities, implementing money management skills, and making public presentations. By attending KC BizFest, students gain entrepreneurial experience, economic literacy, and improved skills in math, reading, writing, and verbal communication while gaining workforce readiness when creating feasible business plans. 

KC BizFest is a four-day intensive training event that focuses on helping students (a) turn hobbies and skills into profit-making ventures, (b) establish entrepreneurial and leadership goals, (c) create plans for business and life, and (d) become effective leaders and team players. 

Become an entrepreneur by identifying your business setting goals and establishing operations. 
Conduct an industry analysis and create a marketing plan while learning how to dress for success.
Manage your money with financial planning while finalizing your business plan to present as a start-up company in your local community.  
Present your business plan to recruit investors and gain a following.

KC BizFest College Scholarships

The top six winners at KC BizFest will receive checks to be used to further their educational endeavors. All graduating participants are eligible to apply for scholarships from participating colleges or universities. Participating higher education institutions disclose their scholarship terms and conditions and have their unique application process post-BizFest graduation. Please note, some colleges accept junior participants to receive aid while others may not. Colleges and Universities with KC BizFest Scholarship opportunities will be present at the KC BizFest Event participating in a mini college fair on Saturday, February 18, and will present at graduation.
