KC BizFest offers high school students in the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan area an opportunity to learn a variety of life skills and business techniques. The majority of KC BizFest participants come from the emerging Latino Community. Students learn the art of networking in business environments, identifying investment opportunities, implementing money management skills, and making public presentations. By attending KC BizFest, students gain entrepreneurial experience, economic literacy, and improved skills in math, reading, writing, and verbal communication while gaining workforce readiness when creating feasible business plans.
KC BizFest is a four-day intensive training event that focuses on helping students (a) turn hobbies and skills into profit-making ventures, (b) establish entrepreneurial and leadership goals, (c) create plans for business and life, and (d) become effective leaders and team players.

The top six winners at KC BizFest will receive checks to be used to further their educational endeavors. All graduating participants are eligible to apply for scholarships from participating colleges or universities. Participating higher education institutions disclose their scholarship terms and conditions and have their unique application process post-BizFest graduation. Please note, some colleges accept junior participants to receive aid while others may not. Colleges and Universities with KC BizFest Scholarship opportunities will be present at the KC BizFest Event participating in a mini college fair on Saturday, February 18, and will present at graduation.
Johnson County Community College (JCCC)
KC BizFest Attendee Scholarships
4 scholarships that pay for 64 credit hours (not limited to in-state applicants)
$50 per credit hour for textbooks
Students must meet JCCC admission requirements and have a minimum 2.5 (unweighted) GPA.
Must graduate from KC BizFest

Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC)
KC BizFest Attendee Scholarships
10 scholarships for $2,600/yr for Full-Time and $1300 per year for Part-Time
Juniors and Senior KC BizFest Graduates are eligible
Students must meet KCKCC admission requirements.
Retention requirements must be met to continue aid.

Metropolitan Community College (MCC)
KC BizFest Attendee Scholarship
(3) scholarships for a full-time student
The maximum value of $3,000 or up to 15 credit hours for up to 2 semesters
Must have a 2.0 GPA
Must graduate from BizFest (certificate or verification required)

The University of Kansas (KU)
KC BizFest Winners – Scholarship Match – one-time match for students who place in 1st – 6th place
1st $2,500, 2nd $1,500, 3rd $1,000, 4th $750, 5th $500, and 6th $500
One-time scholarships will be stackable with renewable scholarships
Students with a 3.25 GPA must apply by March 1 to receive a renewable KU scholarship based on their GPA. Students who have already been awarded a scholarship will not receive an additional one unless they are a Bizfest winner.

University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC)
UMKC offers 5, $1000 KC BizFest scholarships per year to eligible prospective students
3.0 GPA, Complete KC BizFest, 22 ACT, and be a MO or KS resident
Students must apply for admission to UMKC and complete and submit the scholarship application online
This scholarship is renewable for up to 5 years, or until completion of your first bachelor’s degree
Must meet, UMKC GPA, enrollment, and required credit completion per year to be eligible
Must graduate from KC BizFest
