My name is Kaytee Christian, I'm from the small town of Elma in Washington. I've been attending Brigham Young University-Idaho since September of 2017. Since childhood, I've always wanted to become an elementary school teacher. While attending Brigham Young University-Idaho, I have been preparing myself for my future career. My overall goal is to get my teaching degree and teach in my hometown back in Washington.
While I attended high school, I was the president of the National Honor Society program. That program consisted of many different tasks such as; helping with homework and preparing for tests. Something specific that I was able to accomplish during my time in the N.H.S. program was creating a weekly tutoring program. That program was directed toward elementary aged students. I was able to learn extremely valuable skills about helping children in a close environment with all core subjects. While participating in this program I created a love for helping students. That moment when students fully understand something is truly rewarding.
The quote mentioned above is a statement by the renown teacher Ron Clark. Ron is an inspiration to me and many other future teachers. He never gave up on helping his students reach their full potential.
