My name is Kayleigh Hartnett, and I am from Cortlandt Manor, NY. I've always been enamored with reading anything and everything I could get my hands on in school and at the library! When I realized that I wanted to pursue a career in library science, it felt like everything clicked for me, and I knew so long as I worked in a library, I'd never truly work a day in my life again.
Since beginning my academic journey towards LMS certification, I've been able to further develop my own visions and beliefs when it comes to creating a school library program that is Learner-Centered, personalized, and fosters the development of students who have strong multi-modal literacy skills and personal agency.

Here are some things I like to do when I'm not reading!
Here are some photos from my most recent trip to Japan and the Ogasawara Islands! I've also been lucky enough to travel around Italy, and to New Orleans on a service-learning trip to restore coastline vegetative growth.
I really enjoy taking and editing the most amazing pictures I can as an amateur iPhone photographer.
Other things I enjoy doing are being out in nature- hiking, canoeing, paddle-boarding- you name it! I love to play beach volleyball and travel to Long Island every summer to compete in tournaments. Everything else boils down to food (finding and trying fun new places!), spending time with family and friends, and annoying my cats!
