I have been playing the violin for about 12 years, learning many different techniques and pieces. Attending High Point University has provided so many great experiences! Musically, I have been participating in different ensembles such as the Chamber Strings Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and the Honors Quartet. I have also had the opportunity to learn new things such as how to play instruments, Piano and Viola, and how to compose music. Overall, my music education has advanced immensely!
Awards that I have won include:
Presidential Scholarship, Natural Sciences Fellowship Scholarship, Centennial Grant, High Point University Music Scholarship, Wind Ensemble Scholarship, Girl Scouts Gold Award, and the Honors Quartet Scholarship.
I am currently majoring in Music and Behavioral Neuroscience. While music has been a great experience, I am unsure about the professional direction I want to take. This past year has been quite the journey, and while it was scary, I am proud of myself for fighting through the challenges. I continue to learn how to balance my life and health, finding new motivations along the way. I am extremely grateful for the supportive professors and friends I have met during my High Point University journey.
