I pursued my master's in Critical Change and Educational Leadership in order to learn how to create more intentional learning opportunities to make education accessible to all of my students. That being said, creating an inclusive curriculum is an ever-evolving process that requires continuous research and critical thinking. This program has helped me to further develop critical thinking by showing me different ways and perspectives to consider while discussing and analyzing the social, political, and economic consequences of theory, research, and practice.

In my course Inquiry in Education I wrote a research paper called, "Exploring Purposeful Full Inclusion Practices for Students with Severe Disabilities." In this paper I delve into the crucial question: “What is needed to make full inclusion for students with severe disabilities in general education classrooms successful for both students and their teachers?” Completing this assignment allowed me to apply the critical inquiry skills developed through my studies, which enabled me to assess the current educational practices and their broader implications. Through analyzing the intersection of social, political, and economic factors, I was able to identify barriers to full inclusion and propose strategies to overcome them.

Doing this research, I examined not only the practical aspects of implementing inclusive education but also the underlying theoretical frameworks and policies that shape these practices. I took into consideration how social attitudes towards disabilities, funding and resources, and economic constraints can either support or hinder the successful inclusion of students with severe disabilities. This comprehensive approach not only underscored the importance of advocating for inclusive practices but, also engaging in ongoing critical reflection and dialogue to adapt and improve these practices in response to evolving educational needs. I hope that, through continued research and application, I can continue to create and develop a more equitable and inclusive curriculum and school.
