Starting in 2021, Kaweco decided to stop making regional exclusive editions create a new series of pens that will have special colors but now available worldwide instead of regional. This new series is marked "Kaweco Collection" instead of Kaweco Sport and each new color will be available during its release year. If it becomes successful enough they can become a regular color, although with some changes, including the engraving on the cap.

Dark Olive

The Kaweco icon, the Sport model made from high quality plastic, appears in summer 2021 in a natural colour called Dark Olive. On the one hand, green tones have a soothing effect, but they can also be stimulating. Would you like to relax while developing creative thoughts? Then Dark Olive is the perfect fountain pen colour . The golden elements like nib and logo cap complete the design in an ideal manner.

Light Lavender

The Kaweco icon, the Sport model made from high quality plastic, wraps itself in the beautiful colour Light Lavender. The pastel purple shade is currently an absolute trend colour and a must for all collectors and design enthusiasts. Silver elements such as the logo cap, embossing and nib round off the cool but soft purple shade perfectly.

A manufacturing mistake?

Interestingly, on February 17, 2021, some photos were uploaded at retailers websites showing the Light Lavender with "Kaweco Sport" engraving on the cap, instead of "Kaweco Collection".

I think this is an interesting issue for collectors! There was a mistake at Kaweco production line and some of the caps were engraved with the usual "Kaweco Sport" text and others with the correct "Kaweco Collection". Although Kaweco is available to send the correct caps to the customers who bought the wrong ones, I guess most buyers will not need that because the color is very sought after and also because it makes it even more collectible.

Now, I just hope Kaweco doesn't make (after 2021) a regular edition of this colour with this same cap: it would be very nice that it remained a error with a limited production.

Only time will tell.
