Regional research symposium April 2019

1st Prize, outstanding undergraduate research.

First prize for outstanding undergraduate research. Nathan, Justin and Ayobami have built the payload from scratch that flew in the zero gravity flight with Project PoSSUM. They have theoretically modeled solid body rotation in zero gravity, done numerical simulation and explained the flipping of several different rotating objects based on intermediate axis theorem.

As a result Nathan got a full time job offer from NASA even before he finished his degree. Justin is going for his grad school to do his Ph.D.

This work is done in collaboration with Dr. Aaron Persad of MIT.

1st Prize, outstanding graduate research.

Wayne and Mahdi won the first prize for graduate research on biodegradable filtration and removal of toxicity from water. Wayne has also won the people's choice award for his 3mt thesis.

Dr. Das received the 'Distinguished Scholar Award for his outstanding academic work and research.'

Ayobami receiving his award.
