How to start?
Pick your first book! When you come to our club, Japanese teacher and club members will help you to chose a book. If you don't have much experience of reading Japanese books, start from level 0 or 1.
Even if you cannot join our club, there are lots of books available online for free!
Keys to enjoy Tadoku
There are 4 important keys to enjoy Tadoku activity.
1. Start from Scratch
In this activity, the most important thing is “reading a lot”. Difficult books or long stories take much time to finish and you can’t read a lot. Let’s begin with ones easy to read. Then, you will be able to read difficult books fast.
2. Stop reading if a book is not for you
If a book is too difficult, you get lots the story, or you are bored with a book, you may stop reading it. Please take a new one.
3. Read without dictionary and taking notes
Even if there are new words or unclear parts, just skip them and keep reading. It is not necessary to understand every single word from a book. It’s enough if you understand more or less. It also takes time to check words in dictionary or to take notes, and it makes you difficult to “read a lot”.
4. Record what you read
Reading record is very important. When you look it back, you will be happy and satisfied with your reading progress. Also, you can easily recommend your favorite ones to your friends if you leave comments in the record.
