This rain gauge and app was designed and built for educational use by Ikaika Bishop to use with various shcool groups.  It was created as a learning tool for both students and educators to learn and engage with data collection and resource management.

Privacy Policy for Ka'ualihau

Ikaika Bishop built the Ka'ualihau app (“the App”) to connect with and control compatible Bluetooth-enabled rain gauge devices. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard data when you use our App.

We designed Ka'ualihau to collect as little personal data as possible.

a. Information you provide

• Optional contact information (such as email) if you contact us for support or feedback.

b. Automatically collected information

• Device information: App version, device model, and operating system (used only to improve performance).
  
  

• Bluetooth connection data: The App uses Bluetooth to connect to your rain gauge. Connection data is used only for pairing and device control.
  
  

• Rainfall data: The App may record rainfall measurements and timestamps from your device. This data is stored locally on your device unless you choose to export or share it.
  
  

c. No sensitive data collected
We do not collect location data, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected data only to:

• Enable Bluetooth communication with your rain gauge device.
  
  

• Display and manage rainfall data.
  
  

• Improve functionality and app stability.
  
  

• Provide support or respond to user inquiries (if you contact us).
  
  

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.

3. Data Storage and Security

• All rainfall data is stored locally on your device by default.
  
  

• If you choose to export or share data, you control where it is sent.

Our App is not directed toward children under 13. We do not knowingly collect or store any information from children.

You can:

• Delete your rainfall data at any time through the App.
  
  

• Uninstall the App to remove all stored data from your device.
  
  

• Contact us to request deletion of any support-related communication records.
