We invite you to the world of digital electronics, digital design and ASIC/FPGA technologies, which will open to you at the KAU School "Digital Electronics, Digital Design, FPGA" (KAU DES-2024) held by Kyiv Academic University.

Under the guidance of our lecturers and mentors, you will get to know digital circuits, consider the principles of digital design, learn more about ASIC/FPGA technologies, their practical use and advantages over CPU/GPU, and learn to program digital devices in Hardware Description Language (HDL).

Join us for hands-on classes and create your own projects under the guidance of our mentors. From the idea to testing and implementation using AMD (Xilinx) Vivado ML and Digilent BASYS 3. (Practical work will be carried out in the KAU laboratory offline).

What will you learn at KAU DES-2024?

The lectures will introduce the basic elements of digital electronics, the principles of their operation, the basics of digital design and FPGA programming languages. In particular, emphasis will be placed on the application of ASIC/FPGA in modern experimental physics (read more on the Lectures page).

Each lecture has up to 10 minutes allocated for Q&A.

What level of expertise is expected from participants?

These lectures are going to be valuable for:

Participants with basic knowledge in the field of electronics (analogue electronics) and are interested in getting to know the basics of digital electronics;
Participants who work in the field of experimental applied physics and are interested in expanding the toolset for their experiments.

What will be the format of the event?

All the lectures will be held online, both for safety reasons and for the ability to include participants from different parts of the world.
Practical work will be conducted in the KAU laboratory offline.

Will the lectures be recorded?

The lectures and Q&A sessions will be recorded when possible. Thus, registered participants will be able to catch up with all or most of the materials.
