This team started in 2019 with only a small group of tennis players wanting to meet new players around the Houston Area. The group originally participated in the USTA league. But over a short period of time, the team expanded and was invited to a legendary Memorial City tennis tournament. The team began playing every Thursday and Saturday. Since the Katy area grew, and the tennis community grew with it, a new extension of the USTA team, namely KTA (Katy Tennis Association) was formed. The Katy Challengers team was the first team to participate in this new Katy league.
