SKILLS: Fulfilling this assignment helped me to understand how to research websites in order to benefit my studnets. I choose the website Sumdog to help with a math based curriculum. I then researched the app, Reading Racer to use to help studnets with a reading based curriculum. And for my third app, I used Math Castle as another Math app for students to engage with math in an exciting way.
CONNECTIONS: I will use the knowledge that I learned from this assignment in my future to help me create a more fun and engaging learning assignment for studnets. Technology has taken over todays classrooms and so therefore, this practice will aid me in making my classroom better virtually while also having fun.
SKILLS: Through the DigCit training, I learned how to use technology in a responsible way. This is important with the way classrooms use technology in todays world. I now know how to keep both myself and students safe online, protected from the dangers of the internet.
CONNECTIONS: I will use the knowledge from this training in my future classroom. I know that as elementary students, they will be curious to what the internet has to offer. Therefore, I will use the knowledge I learned from this training and a training like this to educate my students on internet safety.
SKILLS: The Louisiana State Ethics training helped me to understand the code of ethics to be followed in the professinal world. As well as, how to implement and the importance of the code of ethics. This ethics training for public servants gave insight to understand the importance of why this is used in the classroom.
CONNECTIONS: I will use the knowledge from this training as an educator in my future. I now know what is right and what is wrong and it is important for me to follow this code to protect the safety of those surrounded by me.
SKILLS: Setting up the Google Glassroom allowed me to grow my knowledge of tech tools to use in my classroom. Learning management systems are implemented in almost all classrooms so therefore, being familiar in Google Classroom will advance my future teaching career. In this, I learned how to set up a classroom, engage my students in the classroom and manage both assignments and grades for all students.
CONNECTIONS: I will use the knowledge I learned on this assignment in the future. I will implement Google Classroom into my future class to be able to attend to my class online and in an organized way.
SKILLS: This assignment was a practical way of learning how to use video software. I grew my knowledge of both video editing skills as well as working my way around Youtube. I also have learned how to add Youtube to my Google Site.
CONNECTIONS: I will use the knowledge I learned on this assignment in the future. I will be able to learn more about my students through assignments like this. My students will be able to learn more about me through this.

I learned that surverys are a great way to reach out to students to get student feedback.
I learned the positive effects of sharing knowledge, evidence and resources within our community.
We are better together when we include families in the classroom and how to bridge the work of digital citizenship with that.
I listened to a section that focused on tools that teach us to be good digital citizens. They provided resources that demonstrated DigCit.
As educators, we must practice what we preach, or teach! Our students will look to us and our use of digcit.
The power of pause teaches us to think before we publish. Pausing skills are used in our everyday life and now we model pausing when teaching our students about digcit.
