形態：大型のヒザラガイ類で、6㎝に達する。ヤスリヒザラガイに似るが、中間版の中央域は縦肋ではなく、顆粒列によって彫刻される。また、貝殻・肉帯ともに赤褐色であり、この色は一定していてわかりやすい。頭板、尾板、および中間版の側域には顆粒状の放射肋をもつ。
