Dr. Suto has moved to Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, Hokkaido University.

• He is working at Intelligent Communications Laboratory as Associate professor.

Katsuya Suto received the B.Sc. degree in computer engineering from Iwate University, Morioka, Japan, in 2011, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in information science from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, in 2013 and 2016, respectively. From 2016 to 2018, he was a Overseas Research Fellowships under the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) at the Broadband Communications Research Lab., University of Waterloo, ON, Canada. Since 2025, He as been an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, Hokkaido University, Hokkaido, Japan. His research interests include semantic communications, channel knowledge map, vision-aided communications, and vehicular communications. He received the Best Paper Award at the IEEE VTC2013-spring, the IEEE/CIC ICCC2015, the IEEE ICC2016, and the IEEE Transactions on Computers in 2018. He is currently the Technical Affairs Committee (TAC) Vice-Chair, IEEE Asia/Pacific Region Board. He is a senior member of IEEE and member of IEICE.

岩手県一関市（旧東山町）出身．一関高専，岩手大学を経て東北大学大学院情報科学研究科にて修士・博士（情報科学）を取得．2016年カナダ・ウォータールー大学博士研究員（日本学術振興会海外特別研究員），2018年電気通信大学大学院情報理工学研究科助教，2023年同学准教授を経て，2025年7月より北海道大学大学院情報科学研究院准教授．専門分野は，無線通信，通信ネットワーク．IEEE Transactions on Computers最優秀論文賞，IEEE ICC最優秀論文賞，IEEE VTC最優秀論文賞，等受賞．
