Katsuya Suto received the B.Sc. degree in computer engineering from Iwate University, Morioka, Japan, in 2011, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in information science from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, in 2013 and 2016, respectively. He has worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow for Research Abroad, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, in the Broadband Communications Research Lab., University of Waterloo, ON, Canada, from 2016 to 2018. He is an Associate Professor with the Graduate School of Informatics and Engineering, the University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo, Japan. His research interests include semantic communications, radio propagation, deep learning, and graph representation. He received the Best Paper Award at the IEEE VTC2013-spring, the IEEE/CIC ICCC2015, the IEEE ICC2016, and the IEEE Transactions on Computers in 2018. He is currently the Technical Affairs Committee (TAC) Vice-Chair, IEEE Asia/Pacific Region Board. He is a member of IEEE and IEICE.

岩手県一関市(旧東山町)出身.一関高専,岩手大学を経て東北大学大学院情報科学研究科にて修士・博士(情報科学)を取得.カナダ・ウォータールー大学博士研究員,電気通信大学大学院情報理工学研究科助教を経て,2023年3月より同学准教授.専門分野は,無線通信,通信ネットワーク.IEEE Transactions on Computers最優秀論文賞,IEEE ICC最優秀論文賞,IEEE VTC最優秀論文賞,等受賞.
