Artist Portfolio

Katrina Li is an actor, director, and producer with roots in Chicago, IL, now based in the Washington, D.C. area.

She holds a B.S. in Theatre and Cognitive Science from Northwestern University, where she trained extensively across stage and screen. Her recent stage work includes Sweat (2017 Pulitzer Prize for Drama) at the Virginia Wadsworth Center. On film, she starred in Befriending, which screened at the Gene Siskel Film Center's 27th Annual Asian American Showcase in Chicago.

Her work behind the camera includes directing, producing, and shooting independent and documentary shorts at Northwestern, among them Sasha is Sinking and Stories from The Garage. In voiceover, she has narrated for Capital One and MasterWord Services.

Katrina's training in cognitive science informs how she builds a character — a working interest in the distance between what a person says and what's actually moving underneath. She is fluent in Mandarin, and trained in voice, violin, and dance.
