I am a sociologist studying educational inequalities and how institutional contexts shape students’ educational outcomes and perceptions of inequality and fairness. My research focuses on social and migration-related disparities in secondary education, with an interest in how education systems and policies can help reduce these inequalities. My doctoral thesis examined the role of educational tracking in shaping differences in secondary school outcomes between second-generation immigrant and ethnic majority students.
I am currently an affiliated postdoctoral researcher at the Cluster of Excellence "The Politics of Inequality" Previously, I was a researcher at the Chair of Microsociology at the University of Konstanz and co-coordinated the Cluster’s longitudinal survey on Students' Perceptions of Inequality and Fairness. I have also held research and teaching positions at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena, the Leibniz University Hannover, as well as research positions at the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB).
