About Me:
Hi!
I am currently a tenth grader attending the West Essex Regional High School in North Caldwell, NJ. (I transferred from the Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child in Summit, NJ in the Fall of 2024). I am very academically focused and enjoy challenging myself in the classroom while maintaining strong grades. My current favorite classes are Science and History, and I love my elective digital photography class because I am also very creative!
I am the field hockey Goalkeeper for both my school team (West Essex High School - Varsity starter) and my club team (NJ GRIT U16 and U19) and I am looking forward to continuing my field hockey career in college. My High School Field Hockey Team was the #1 ranked team in NJ (Max FH and NJ.Com) and #5 Nationally (Max FH) and was named the NJ Field Hockey Team of the Year (NJ.Com). I am also proud to have been selected as a team captain for the 2025 season (my junior year). I have participated in USAFH's Nexus Program for many years, attended the U16 Junior Olympics at Wake Forest (Summer 2024), and was named to the U16 USJWNT travel team to play in Europe (Spring 2025).
In addition to field hockey, I enjoy lacrosse, which I have played since third grade, and running. I started as a defender for my high school varsity lacrosse team this season. I’ve always loved running and, through 9th grade, I competed on the track team (winter and spring) for several seasons. Some of my favorite races include the Spring Lake (NJ) 5-Mile Run, as well as participating in 'Girls on the Run' 5Ks with my younger sister. Athletics are important to me and my family and I love being part of the team and my friendships with my teammates. My mom played varsity lacrosse in college at Lehigh University and my dad played varsity football and lacrosse at Amherst College and have taught me and my two siblings the importance of great team work and being very coachable.
I’m looking forward to seeing where my high school and college years take me.
Sincerely,
Katie
