About Katie Gherasim
I am Katie Gherasim (She/Her), and I am an artist who often explores creation through the lens of live theatre, improvisation, collage, and stop motion animation. My devising practice is deeply established through the exploration of imagery and how visual compositions may interact with other theatrical elements, creating a nuanced interpretation. My curiosities have led to the investigation of shared interworlds created when a relationship of any nature is formed. After the passing of my brother Connor, I began to explore themes of nostalgia, family, and liminality through the layered lens of grief. My desire in recent projects has been to carve space to lament, celebrate and ultimately mourn the deceased.
