Kathryn Hughes Parent Teacher Association (KH PTA) is an active and engaged organization that spearheads events and fundraisers in support of our kids, teachers, staff, and families through each school year. Our success depends on the participation and contributions of parents and families like you. We hope you will get involved, whether it's volunteering in a classroom, participating in fundraising/events, join us at our meetings, or even just reaching out to the PTA Executive Board Members with questions and ideas.

Proud Mother of 5 kids. Age ranges from 8,16,18,20, and 30yrs old. All of them went to Hughes Elementary. PTA has been part of their lives from kinder to H.S in developing friendship, helping others, leadership, and being in a great community. Looking forward to seeing you all and join our festivities!

I am a mom of 4. My oldest just graduated high school. I have a middle schooler over at Huerta and my youngest two are here at Hughes (5th and 2nd grade). Last year was my first year being apart of the PTA Board and I have enjoyed it. Looking forward to making fun memories this school year.

I have 3 kids- 9 year old, 11 year old and 13 year old. In my free time, I love spending time with family and friends, especially if we go camping or swimming! I’m looking forward to helping out on the PTA this year!

Parents to 3 boys (12,7,5). We love sports and Disneyland. We have been part of the PTA for 4 years, and enjoy giving back to the community. We consistently encourage parents to participate, as their involvement significantly impacts their children.

Events and Programs For The Children
During the school year, the KH PTA sets up fun festivals, dances, learning programs, and other events to connect the students and the school community while allowing the PTA to raise money to continue to add to the school for the students. Events include but not limited to: Back to School/Open House, Harvest/Winter/Spring Festivals, Valentines Family Dance, Game Nights, Reading Nights, Science Nights, Movie Nights, Multicultural Festival, Walk-A-Thon, Staff Appreciation Week.

Student Classroom Materials & Learning Opportunities
Each year, the PTA supports students and classrooms by reimbursing teachers for purchases of supplies, books, or materials for their students and classroom.
PTA brings in educational programs for school assemblies and other events that promote the love of learning e.g. reading night, science night, arts and crafts, etc.
The PTA also contributes to nation-wide events i.e. Autism Awareness, Red Ribbon Week to help bring awareness to Hughes students about key topics such as autism and drug prevention to students at Kathryn Hughes.
