Safe Place
Sometimes, students need to:
go to an area of the room to be alone, without explanation.
safely leave the room to be in the hallway or with another adult.
put their head down and rest. A mask like this helps students feel allowed to do so.
It tells:
their body that this time is allowed to relax.
others not to disturb them for a little while.
their eyes that it's okay to be in the dark
not see others
gives the child a cue to regulate their own emotions
