Kathleen Merkel

I wanted to be a paleontologist,

and I wouldn't be here without that failed dream.

My love for the little things started with some sand and a detailing brush at Dinosaur World in Tampa, Florida. What I was then told could never be a successful career, became my gateway to the ad world.

Creativity has always festered in me, and advertising has given it the space to run free. As a kid, I created commercials on an iPad with my older brother, made jingles while selling Girl Scout cookies, and developed a campaign for myself to be "President of the House" at 7 years old where my slogan was "Don't Be Tacky, Vote for Kackie." Safe to say I lost that presidential race. How tacky.

Take a look at some of the things that make me me...

Dig A Little Deeper

I watched Jurassic Park for the first time at 6 years old and I was changed forever.

I'd like to say there's nothing that can scare me, but that was before I had to start applying to jobs.

My favorite dinosaur? It is and always will be a brachiosaurus. Like a prehistoric giraffe, they hang around and eat leaves, what a good life.

I love everything time travel and I swear I've seen every movie or show related to it.

In all honesty, I can recite the Back to the Future movies and even dressed up as Marty McFly in high school.

Imagine my excitement when I got to become a Public Relations intern for Universal Orlando Resort...

I started painting my own nails when I was 8 years old...talk about young & determined.

There's no other feeling like having control over something in your hands and being proud of the time and detail you put into its final product.

Growing up in Miami means living in a melting pot of all-things Hispanic.

With a mom born in Spain and raised in Venezuela, arepas mean everything to me, so spotting this logo anywhere in public immediately brings me home.

If a photo says 1000 words, consider this my autobiography...
