The most significant and long-lasting learning takes place when students are presented with unique ways of understanding the materials through multiple presentation styles and by integrating new opportunities and hands-on, interactive, and authentic experiences into the classroom.
I am a biological anthropologist, specializing in human skeletal biology, forensic anthropology, population genetics, and geometric morphometrics. My research focuses primarily on the following areas: understanding the evolutionary processes associated with the effect of environmental changes on human populations, reconstructing genetic relationships using metric traits, understanding paleodemographic trends, and improving forensic anthropology methods. Underlying my research questions is a fundamental interest in quantitative methods in skeletal biology.
I have examined the skeletal remains of thousands of individuals through my participation in forensic anthropology casework and bioarchaeological research. I frequently act as a forensic anthropology consultant for mediolegal investigators from the area. I have also participated in cultural resource management projects involving skeletal remains.
