Hi, I'm Katie!

I'm a PhD student in the Radioisotope Dating (RaD) Lab at the University of Washington. My research focuses on ice-ocean interactions of the Cordilleran and Greenland Ice Sheets around the Last Glacial Maximum to better understand ice sheet and oceanographic behavior during periods of abrupt climate change. I work with marine sediment cores from continental slope settings and primarily use foraminiferal geochemistry and faunal assemblages to reconstruct oceanographic conditions of the past. I also use X-ray computed tomography (CT) to visualize features within cores, specifically using a seagoing CT instrument. Outside of research, I love photography, knitting, spending time outside, and riding my bike!
