Welcome!
I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at Iowa State University. I earned my Ph. D. and M.A. in Economics from Michigan State University and my B.S. in Economics from the University of Missouri.
My research interests are in public, health and industrial organization. Broadly, my research analyzes factors that influence grocery demand. My published work evaluates changes in grocery demand when households adopt an online grocery shopping service, as well as changes in supermarket purchasing patterns surrounding SNAP (food stamp) adoption and the SNAP benefit distribution cycle. My ongoing work evaluates the effects of: price per unit labeling on welfare, WIC online benefit redemption on redemption rates, liquidity on bulk purchases, the influences of childhood environmental exposure on adulthood behavior, soda restrictions for SNAP benefits on the healthfulness of purchases and the influence of choice sets on consumer demand.
