Kate Varcoe is from a small town in Southern Ontario, Canada. An avid fantasy reader, she started writing fantasy as a teenager. Her debut novel, To Claim Her Crown (Stolen Crowns of the Realms: Book One), will be out in October 2026.

Kate was heavily inspired by Tamora Pierce, as she owns all of her books and reads them at least once a year.

Growing up on a farm her imagination flourished as she played outside.
