About me
I am a Departmental Lecturer in Phonetics and Phonology at the University of Oxford, where I am also Stipendiary Lecturer in Linguistics at St Catherine's College and St John's College. I also serve as the Linguistics Organising Tutor for St Catherine's, St John's, and New College.
My recent research focuses on sociophonetic variation of English spoken in Ireland (Irish English), particularly in the context of language contact between Irish and English. I'm interested in finding out how sociolinguistic factors interact with fine-grained phonetic features in situations of language contact.
I teach both undergraduate and postgraduate students. At the undergraduate level, I offer tutorials in Phonetics & Phonology, General Linguistics and French Linguistics. At the postgraduate level, I teach Phonetics and Phonology.
After completing my BA in French and Linguistics at Oxford, I gained an MA in Linguistics at UCL and a PhD at Trinity College Dublin.
