I am currently 19 years old. I have always loved children and my goal is to become an elementary school teacher. One day, later on, I would love to start a charity that builds schools in areas that do not have them. I have been working with children for as long as I can remember. To me, there is no better feeling than when I make a child smile. It is so rewarding. This organization is just one step towards providing education to the future generations.
This is my dog Marley. She is currently 3 years old. I am not sure what breed she is, but my family and I guess a terrier mix. Marley is a rescue from Puerto Rico. She had puppies when she was only 1! Marley had a difficult childhood because she was born among the chaos of hurricane Maria. Marley is a very energetic dog that loves every person she meets! If you see her you won't get away without a cuddle. She gets some anxiety around other dogs still.
I have always been into art. I tried to find some artwork that was appropriate and nice to display. I do a variety of mediums: digital art, painting, craft, photoshop, jewelry making, drawing, sculpting, sewing, embroidery, food, origami, photography, ceramics, and more!
♡ I worked at Branchville Elementary School as a supervisory paraeducator.
♡ I worked at my local Parks and Recreation after school and on the weekends. After school, elementary students would be dropped off here. We would help them with their homework, do art with them, and play sports with them. On the weekend I worked in the child-sitting room which was ages 8 weeks to 8 years old.
♡ I volunteered at a program called Around my Block. This was run by Roseanna Gullisano in Bronx, New York. I spent the day at elementary school PS111 and helped teach the children how to read.
♡ I took part in a yearly Christmas event for the homeless shelter in New Haven, Connecticut. We would provide meals, activities, and more. I worked in the children boutique. Children got to pick two presents for their parents. They got to wrap it and make a card. All of the presents were donated. These families could not afford presents so it really excited the kids.
♡ I volunteer or lead various clothing and food drives. The collections went to the soup kitchens, homeless shelters in New York, and more. I also volunteer in organizations to help the environment. I clean up public spaces and plant new flowers.
♡ I do a lot of babysitting and pet sitting. I have been doing this since 6th grade. I currently babysit for around 30 families.
