Has it been a while since you got to play with some cool math instead of just grading it?
Do you secretly miss the thrill of discussing a solution with someone who actually enjoys it?
During the 2027-2028 school year, I am planning on hosting a whole tournament of math battles in Ottawa, ON, for students in Grades 9-12. To help the tournament gain attention and decrease amount of stress over the rules, two math battles are going to be hosted a during 2026-2027 school year -- one for teachers and one for students! And this page is for the teachers' time to shine!
Date of the Battle: November 21, 2026.
Location of the Battle: University of Ottawa, Learning Crossroads (CRX) 230.
Remark: You are welcome to come to see the battle & participate in the discussion afterwards, even if you are not playing!

Note that the form is for individuals, NOT for the team registration.
The schedule for the day is provided on the right. During the Welcome time, we will split all the participants into two ~equal teams, and you will have a chance to choose to be on the same team as your colleagues (or not...). Note that the Battle doesn't really have an end point since it depends on how many questions have been solved by the teams, how they solved them, and how they present them.
Remark: We cannot promise lunch to people who are not participating in the battle.
*Time period dedicated to a chat between teachers & organisers, including (but is not limited to) choosing the date for the students' battle during the next school term, discussing the difficulty of the problems, revising the full rules document.
Remark: Teams can have at most 8 players, so the registration will close when 16 people register for the event.

Well, I hope you didn't click on this because you hoped to see the problems! XD
The Battle will include a set of 6-10 problems, oriented on Grades 9-12. However, all math teachers are welcome to join!
As in any math competition, the problem set will include problems usual to see in school materials, which might require some creative thinking to be worked out. Only scientific calculators are allowed.
