I am a PhD student at the Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa, with with concentration in Teaching & Learning. My research focuses on mathematical reasoning, mathematical communication, and math competitions. At the same time, I am still continuing teaching math, mostly as a teaching assistant and instructor of courses at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Ottawa, following my graduation with a Bachelor (Honours) and Master's degrees in Mathematics from Thompson Rivers University and McMaster University, respectively. During my university journey, I have been an active member of various communities and committees, the full list of which can be found on Service page. I believe that being an active member of a community is an important duty of an individual as a member of our society, and I recommend everyone to find something of this sort.

One of the important communities for me is the space of mathematics competitions, which I am now researching. Back in the day, I was able to be a participant of this movement throughout my schooling in Ukraine, and now I get to organise some in Canada, introducing locals to team competitions, hopefully changing the "reputation" competitions gained in North America.
